Post-Doc, CSMN
About
I held a post-doctoral fellowship (Feb. 2007 – Sep. 2008) in the Shared Content Research Project affiliated to CSMN. I received my doctorate from the University of Oxford in 2006. My research examined the ways in which language is sensitive to context. I used tools of linguistic and philosophical analysis to elaborate the distinction between the meaning of a sentence and what a person may mean by using it, drawing consequences for contemporary linguistic theory. In my research there was a particular focus on the Gricean mechanisms of conventional and conversational implicature.
From Sep 2008 I have been training as a lawyer at City University in London.
