Ingerid S. Straume holds a PhD in the philosophy of education, with a thesis (in Norwegian) on the work of philosopher and psychoanalyst Cornelius Castoriadis. She is a member of the Norwegian think tank Res Publica, and co-president in the Norwegian division of ATTAC (Association pour une Taxation des Transactions financieres et pour l'Action Citoyenne - Association for the Taxation of Financial Transactions and for Citizens' Action).
