About
I am a postdoctoral research fellow in Nordic Literature. My primary research focus is on space and place in literature. My current project has the working title "The 'real' Norway: Cabin, Seter and Nation." This book project explores how temporary seasonal and/or vacation dwellings signify in Norwegian literature from the late 1700s to today. I am particularly interested in how these spaces are put to use in both national and individual identity construction.
In addition, I recently completed a book manuscript entitled "Ibsen's Peer Gynt and the Production of Meaning," which is under review.
